4.9. Overdose Cases of overdose have been reported for ketoprofen doses of up to 2.5 g. In adults, the main signs of overdose are headache, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal or epigastric pain. Hypotension, respiratory depression and gastrointestinal bleeding have been observed in cases of serious poisoning. There is no specific antidote The patient must be immediately transferred to a specialized hospital setting where symptomatic treatment must be initiated to rehydrate the patient, monitor renal function, and correct possible acidosis. If kidney failure occurs, the medicinal product may be eliminated by hemodialysis. Gastric lavage may be performed or activated charcoal administered to limit ketoprofen absorption.
